IPAFFS Notification

Products of Animal Origin (POAO)

Products of Animal Origin (POAO) are animal products for human consumption. This includes (but is not limited to) the following food groups:
• Meat, including fresh meat, meat products, minced meat, meat preparations, poultry meat, rabbit, farmed game meat, and wild game meat
• Eggs and egg products
• Milk and milk products
• Honey, gelatine, and gelatine products

From 1 January 2022, all POAO and ABP consignments must be pre-notified on IPAFFS, and all plants and plant products categorized as ‘regulated and notifiable’ will need to be pre-notified on either IPAFFS or the PEACH system.

If you are new to the process of pre-notifying plants and plant products, you should register and use IPAFFS from 1 January 2022. Otherwise, please continue using PEACH until you are directed to move to IPAFFS during the course of 2022.

You need to ensure that you share the IPAFFS or PEACH notification reference number with your customs agent. Your customs agent must enter this number to submit the declaration. Failure to notify and provide this information will delay your customs agent’s ability to complete the declaration and could therefore delay the departure of your consignment.

As you prepare your goods for export from the UK, we require the following information to streamline the process:

  • Invoice

  • Product Description

  • Commodity Codes

  • Incoterm

  • CPC Code (Reason for Import)

  • Considerations Before Exporting Goods from the UK:
If the goods' importer is located in a country other than the initial departure point from the UK (e.g., France), a Transit document T1 is required.

Transit Documents

We offer comprehensive support for your exports, including the provision of Transit documents (T1). The cost of T1 is determined based on the value of your exported goods and the required guarantee amount.

For a personalized quote, please reach out to us. To initiate the process, we kindly ask for the following information:

  • Office of departure

  • Office of discharge

  • Approximate timing of shipment

  • Countries on Route

  • Export Documents

  • Transport details

  • Comprehensive Customs Guarantee (if available)

  • Export/Transit Entry form (download the form)

GVMR

A Goods Movement Reference (GMR) number is systematically generated by GVMS. This unique identifier links all customs declarations associated with a specific shipment.

The GMR simplifies the process for hauliers, enabling them to present a single reference number at the European border, serving as evidence that all shipped goods have been accurately declared to HM Revenue and Customs.

  • The crossing direction

  • The registration numbers of all the vehicles, trailers, and containers in the vehicle.

  • All the crossing details and exact movement time (arrival/departure)

  • Customs declaration numbers, transit declaration numbers, and safety and security declaration references for all the goods and trailers that need them.

  • EIDR, ATA, and TIR declaration references

ENS Declarations

Entry Summary Declarations (ENS) are mandatory for all goods entering the Great Britain (GB) territory from third countries outside the European Union (EU).

However, it's important to note that goods arriving in Great Britain from the EU customs territory are currently exempt from this requirement. This exemption has been extended until the end of 2023.

To facilitate the submission of an ENS, certain documents are required:

    • Description of goods or commodity code

    • Both the consignor and the consignee

    • The nature, quantity, and packaging of your items

    • At the border, the mode of conveyance

    • Particulars of the subsequent journey

ATA Carnet

When temporarily exporting goods from the UK that are destined to be reimported unchanged, the essential document is the ATA Carnet. This document facilitates the temporary export of commercial samples, trade fair or exhibition goods, and professional equipment to countries within the ATA Carnet system.

ATA Carnets in the UK are exclusively issued by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with the Authorised Chamber Network. Our team is well-equipped to provide comprehensive support throughout the entire process, ensuring a seamless experience for your temporary exports and reimports
